I guess, many of you are surprised now. Unfortunately, this handset is not available for purchase. The enthusiasts of XDA-developers did not miss their opportunity to work on this smartphone. By the way, before this they had the chance to port Android Honeycomb to the HTC G1. The result was good you know, as many of the features worked quite better.
Jcarrz1 from XDA made an ICS experiment, and got the following result; the touchscreen control works better, though a bit slower than on the high-end smartphones. Jcarrz1 also added that the device had functioning typical apps and other features. But some failures have been found for sure; in Wi-Fi connectivity and Bluetooth connectivity.
The HTC G1 runs Android 1.5, which already makes the result more awesome. Anyways, you should see it yourself, watch the video and then tell your opinions.
