Plans of HTC 2012

HTC decided to upgrade its international strategy to ensure its success in the US market as well. The manufacturer will devote the first quarter of the coming year to the development of technologies, this means that novelties from the Taiwanese company will not appear soon.
The smartphones for the 2012 will not be as much as in 2011, but the quality of the coming devices will be provided. Anyway, HTC promises to introduce some surprises, firstly the 4G LTE device running Windows Phone OS will be released and then you will see the flagship coming with Android.
The WP device with 4G LTE is said to be launched in February. May be you will see its first look at the CES 2012 event. They say the look will be similar to the HTC Titan’s.

ITC rules is Apple's favor, HTC handset ban to go into effect on April 19

The International Trade Commission ruled yesterday that HTC handsets are indeed infrongign on Apple’s patent (#5,946,647) and has imposed a ban on HTC’s infringing handset which goes into effect on April 19, 2012. While the original patent dispute brought forth by Apple names phones like the HTC EVO 4G, HTC DROID Incredible, T-Mobile G2 and the HTC Aria nad points its finger at Android 1.6 through 2.2, but court’s decision to issue an exclusion order means that any phone manufactured by HTC which infringed on the patent is subject to the ban. At this point, the only person who can overrule the ITC’s decision is the U.S. president.

SO what’s the real issue at hand? The courts have found that HTC’s use of Android is the real culprit as the OS uses a “system and method [which] causes a computer to detect and perform actions on structures identified in computer data.” It may sound a bit confusing, but a little digging reveals that the issue has to do with the way Android identifies email addresses, phone numbers or even street addresses and launches different applications when a user taps them on a screen.

New HTC Phones coming up next year

Things have been a little quiet lately, which is a bit odd since CES is right around the corner and HTC’s new phones for the next year typically start to show up in new leaks right around this time. Fortunately, there are some new rumors which have surfaced today which indicate that HTC is hard at work making new phones for all of us to enjoy.

HTC Elite (HTC Congressional)

The first rumor we came across this afternoon is of a new HTC phone heading to AT&T this spring. The phone is currently known as the HTC Elite but the name could change to the HTC Congressional by the time is launches in mid-April. The HTC Elite is said to be running on the latest version of Android (Ice Cream Sandwich) and will most likely come with HTC Sense 4.0.
Exact details of the HTC Elite’s specs are missing, but we assume it will be powered by a Qualcomm S4 dual-core chip and will have a large, high-resolution display. Don’t expect the HTC Elite to be unveiled until Mobile World Congress in February.

LTE  Windows  Phone

Rumor has it that HTC is working an a 4G LTE enabled Windows Phone handset for AT&T. The nameless device would not only be the first WP7 LTE handset for AT&T, but it would also be the very first LTE enabled Windows Phone device by any OEM. HTC has always led the pack when it comes to producing 4G phones, so it’s not surprising that they would be the first manufacturer to produce a 4G phone that runs on Microsoft’s mobile OS.
Specs for the mysterious WP7 device are sparse, but we do know that it will feature a 4.7-inch display and may be similar in size to the HTC Titan. With an expected February 5th launch date; look for the new Windows Phone handset at AT&T’s CES announcement next month.

HTC Evo Views 4G 32GB discounted to $229

Christmas is almost here. I know we all have our sights set on those fancy new phones from HTC, but you might want to consider adding the HTC EVO View 4G to your list. Yes, the device is old and typically required a new two year contract from Sprint if you want a good deal, but we’ve stumbled upon a one-day promotion which simply can’t be passed up!
Daily Steals has the HTC EVO View 4G listed at $229, but you’ll have to act fast since the promotion will expire at midnight. If you were to buy the tablet directly from Sprint, you would have to pay $399 without the two year data contract.

T-Mobile's HTC Amaze 4G versus the iPhone 4: Battle of the cameras

HTC has really stepped up its game in the past few months, delivering phones that take some pretty amazing shots. We knew that HTC was going to be focusing on cameras when they announced the HTC Sensation and the EVO 3D in the first half of the year, but things got even better with the introduction of the T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide with its 8 megapixel backlit imaging sensor and f2.2 lens.

Since then, HTC has rolled out the same camera tech on the HTC Amaze 4G and the HTC Rezound which are both rated as some of the best Android camera phones currently on the market. But how does HTC’s new camera technology compare to what Apple’s put together for the iPhone 4S? Many say that the two technologies are pretty similar, but T-Mobile thought it would be interesting to pit the two in a head to head battle to show which one has more features available for consumers.

HTC Amaze 4G on T-Mobile Updating to Enable WiFi Calling

A leak once suggested that the HTC Amaze 4G on T-Mobile would receive an update to enable placing calls over WiFi in mid-November. That didn't end up going down as expected, but an additional leak addressed the WiFi-calling update and suggested it would finally be out in the "near future". We suppose "one month" falls under that category, and T-Mobile has just released the details on the Amaze's latest update today.

System software version 1.43.531.3 includes a bunch of bugfixes. The clock widget will now change time zones correctly, Bluetooth and WiFi connection in general should be more stable, and the phone's Twitter and Peep functionality has been tweaked.

HTC Ville handset render shows off amazingly thin 8mm body

Anyone remember the HTC Ville and the leaked specs we were treated to a few weeks back? Now we’re getting our first look at the HTC Ville’s design with some renders of the handset which were leaked to PocketNow. The HTC Ville is said to feature a uni-body aluminum shell which should be a hair shy of 8mm thick, making it the thinnest device ever made by HTC. The other notable feature shown off in the image is the Ville’s wrap around 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display which gives the front of the device smooth edges along its sides.

The HTC Ville is expected to be powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm S4 processor, with an 8MP BI sensor capable of 1080p video capture, Android 4.0, HTC Sense 4.0, and a 1650 mAh battery to keep the Ville up and running for at least a day.

We are still expecting HTC to unveil the HTC Ville at Mobile World Congress next February and could see the phone launch on European carriers as early as April of next year. The specs of the HTC Ville are nice, but we’re betting that many of you have your eyes set on the upcoming HTC Edge and its quad-core Tegra 3 processor and 4.7-inch 720p display. Which HTC phone will you be buying next year?

European HTC Sensation Gets OTA Update

HTC cares about its European users too; this is the reason that the manufacturer offers an OTA update for the European HTC Sensation. We started thinking that HTC offers updates only in the US. But now the European users can get updates too. Most of them have already got a notification about the 1.50.401.1 update, while the other part of the users should check the settings for updating.

The product Manager of HTC in Russia, Evgeni Pavlov, tweeted” Twitter API, Qualcomm patch, Touch panel drivers, Market v.3 apps availability. According to this tweet the update will include all these features. The Twitter API will provide easy access to Twitter, the Qualcomm patch and the touch panel drivers will help to improve the overall performance of the smartphone and will make the web-browsing faster.
The users, who have already got the update, say that a newer Android Market version is also available. This helps to make the using online store app easier.

HTC Play: Own App Store from HTC in planning

As it seems, wants to HTC's own ecosystem around its devices and build-out continues. As the industry magazine reported Pocketnow.com now, the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC is apparently planning to build its own App Store and has the name "HTC Play" can now legally secure.

HTC to play next to each amount of available apps and media content stored, managed, and can also be downloaded. This content and apps are so HTC reports itself, not just on smartphones and tablets, but also on home PCs and laptops can be used.

The material and content in addition to photos and videos will also include games and applications. How is suspected, the service is both Microsoft's Windows Mobile 7 systems, as well as Google's Android system support, as HTC has brought the two known devices with different operating systems on the market. The benefit to users would thereby result from the fact that you can play on the HTC-market directly to Apps for his device. This is indeed the Android Market is not the case.

HTC G1 with Android Ice Cream Sandwich

Recently all Android users have been waiting for the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update. Moreover, you already know how fast it got ported to many devices even if they do not run Android OS.
One of the most interesting experiments of Android Ice Cream Sandwich was porting it to the original HTC Google smartphone known as the HTC G1.

I guess, many of you are surprised now. Unfortunately, this handset is not available for purchase. The enthusiasts of XDA-developers did not miss their opportunity to work on this smartphone. By the way, before this they had the chance to port Android Honeycomb to the HTC G1. The result was good you know, as many of the features worked quite better.
Jcarrz1 from XDA made an ICS experiment, and got the following result; the touchscreen control works better, though a bit slower than on the high-end smartphones. Jcarrz1 also added that the device had functioning typical apps and other features. But some failures have been found for sure; in Wi-Fi connectivity and Bluetooth connectivity.

HTC Buffy with Facebook Intergration and a Partnership Samsung with HTC?

In the wide variety of smartphones, only three versions of them come with Facebook integration. These devices feature Facebook apps with deep user interface integration with Facebook and Facebook buttons. These smartphones are Xperia devices form Sony Ericsson, the Motorola Moto Key Social and our famous HTC Chacha and the HTC Status.

Facebook does not stop and after its cooperation with Samsung plans to work with HTC. The result of their partnership will be the new smartphone carrying the name “Buffy.” The novelty will come with a Facebook button and many other Android apps.
This means that after the launch Facebook will have its own hardware device with HTML5 support as a platform application. I am sure that Facebook fans are too excited about the news. However, they should wait. As for the Facebook CTO, Bret Taylor does not make any comments about the HTC Buffy. He only mentioned:

“Our mobile strategy is simple: We think every mobile device is better if it is deeply social. We’re working across the entire mobile industry; with operators, hardware manufacturers, OS providers, and application developers to bring powerful social experiences to more people around the world.”

Anyways, the handset does not seem to get released soon, and the fans of Facebook and HTC should have patience and wait.

HTC Vivid

HTC Vivid name jeopard, Vivid Entertainment served HTC with cease and desist order

HTC is facing new legal issues, but it’s not what you probably expect. The adult media company Vivid Entertainment has served HTC and AT&T with a cease and desist letter, asking them to change the name of the HTC Vivid due to trademark infringement. Vivid Entertainment is claiming the HTC HTC Vivid’s name may cause confusion among consumers who may think that the Android powered smartphone is made by or endorsed by Vivid Entertainment. While we agree that the HTC Vivid name is very close to Vivid Entertainment, we find it hard to believe that anyone would actually think that there is any connection between the phone and adult entertainment.
