HTC Velocity

That so much waited HTC Velocity has been launched today. The device comes with a few changes but the company kept some key features of it. If you remember the HTC Velocity was meant to run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but it runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Do not get disappointed, if you want to use the device with Android Ice Cream Sandwich then have a little patience since AusDroid says the corresponding update will soon come by Telstra.

Some of the important features of the Velocity are 1.5GHz dual-core processor, the 4.5-inch qHD (960×540 pixels) display, 8MP camera, 1.2MP camera, 1GB of RAM and HTC Sense 3.5.

According to Telstra the HTC Velocity is the fastest Australian smartphone in the Australian network. This is not the only HTC smartphone in Telstra, the carrier also offers the HTC EVO 3D and HTC Sensation. It’s up to you to decide which device you want but remember the HTC Velocity will get ICS for the first.

Mid-range HTC Primo rumored to launch at Mobile World Congress next month

HTC is rumored to be launching the mid-ranged priced HTC Primo next month at Mobile Wold Congress. That’s great news for those of you who have been holding out for a new lower-priced handset from HTC.
The HTC Primo will ship with Android 4.0 along with HTC Sense 4.0. Specs on the HTC Primo will include a 3.7-inch display, a dual-core 1Ghz Qualcomm processor and 512MB of RAM. The rear-facing camera included looks to be 5MP and is capable of producing 720p video. To ensure the longevity of the screen, HTC is including a Super AMOLED, Gorilla Glass display in the Primo. Finally, like it’s bigger brother high-end models, the HTC Edge/Endeavor and Ville, this unannounced handset will ship with Dr. Dre’s Beats Audio.

HTC Partners with IBM to gain a momentum in the enterprise market

HTC has formed a new partnership with IBM which they expect will help the company reach its goal of selling 100-million devices per year. The new agreement with IBM will help HTC gain a stronger foothold in the enterprise market with the integration of IBM’s smart business applications on HTC devices. Details about the IBM and HTC partnership are sparse, but HTC is expecting IBM to talk HTC up to IBM’s current and prospective corporate customers going forward.

HTC Dev unlicks bootloaders for seven more HTC Phone

HTC’s official bootloader unlocking tool has just added support for a few new devices. OK, new may not be the right word since the newest device on the list was announced eleven months ago, but we’re glad to see the HTC Dev team working hard to add support to as many phones as possible.
The latest handsets to get support from HTC’s bootloader unlocking tool are the HTC Salsa, ChaCha, Status, Desire Z, Aria, DROID Incredible and T-Mobile G2. Keep in mind that using HTC’s official bootloader unlocker will void part of your warranty. Make sure you know what you’re doing and be sure to follow the directions to the letter.
