Plans of HTC 2012

HTC decided to upgrade its international strategy to ensure its success in the US market as well. The manufacturer will devote the first quarter of the coming year to the development of technologies, this means that novelties from the Taiwanese company will not appear soon.
The smartphones for the 2012 will not be as much as in 2011, but the quality of the coming devices will be provided. Anyway, HTC promises to introduce some surprises, firstly the 4G LTE device running Windows Phone OS will be released and then you will see the flagship coming with Android.
The WP device with 4G LTE is said to be launched in February. May be you will see its first look at the CES 2012 event. They say the look will be similar to the HTC Titan’s.

ITC rules is Apple's favor, HTC handset ban to go into effect on April 19

The International Trade Commission ruled yesterday that HTC handsets are indeed infrongign on Apple’s patent (#5,946,647) and has imposed a ban on HTC’s infringing handset which goes into effect on April 19, 2012. While the original patent dispute brought forth by Apple names phones like the HTC EVO 4G, HTC DROID Incredible, T-Mobile G2 and the HTC Aria nad points its finger at Android 1.6 through 2.2, but court’s decision to issue an exclusion order means that any phone manufactured by HTC which infringed on the patent is subject to the ban. At this point, the only person who can overrule the ITC’s decision is the U.S. president.

SO what’s the real issue at hand? The courts have found that HTC’s use of Android is the real culprit as the OS uses a “system and method [which] causes a computer to detect and perform actions on structures identified in computer data.” It may sound a bit confusing, but a little digging reveals that the issue has to do with the way Android identifies email addresses, phone numbers or even street addresses and launches different applications when a user taps them on a screen.

New HTC Phones coming up next year

Things have been a little quiet lately, which is a bit odd since CES is right around the corner and HTC’s new phones for the next year typically start to show up in new leaks right around this time. Fortunately, there are some new rumors which have surfaced today which indicate that HTC is hard at work making new phones for all of us to enjoy.

HTC Elite (HTC Congressional)

The first rumor we came across this afternoon is of a new HTC phone heading to AT&T this spring. The phone is currently known as the HTC Elite but the name could change to the HTC Congressional by the time is launches in mid-April. The HTC Elite is said to be running on the latest version of Android (Ice Cream Sandwich) and will most likely come with HTC Sense 4.0.
Exact details of the HTC Elite’s specs are missing, but we assume it will be powered by a Qualcomm S4 dual-core chip and will have a large, high-resolution display. Don’t expect the HTC Elite to be unveiled until Mobile World Congress in February.

LTE  Windows  Phone

Rumor has it that HTC is working an a 4G LTE enabled Windows Phone handset for AT&T. The nameless device would not only be the first WP7 LTE handset for AT&T, but it would also be the very first LTE enabled Windows Phone device by any OEM. HTC has always led the pack when it comes to producing 4G phones, so it’s not surprising that they would be the first manufacturer to produce a 4G phone that runs on Microsoft’s mobile OS.
Specs for the mysterious WP7 device are sparse, but we do know that it will feature a 4.7-inch display and may be similar in size to the HTC Titan. With an expected February 5th launch date; look for the new Windows Phone handset at AT&T’s CES announcement next month.

HTC Evo Views 4G 32GB discounted to $229

Christmas is almost here. I know we all have our sights set on those fancy new phones from HTC, but you might want to consider adding the HTC EVO View 4G to your list. Yes, the device is old and typically required a new two year contract from Sprint if you want a good deal, but we’ve stumbled upon a one-day promotion which simply can’t be passed up!
Daily Steals has the HTC EVO View 4G listed at $229, but you’ll have to act fast since the promotion will expire at midnight. If you were to buy the tablet directly from Sprint, you would have to pay $399 without the two year data contract.

T-Mobile's HTC Amaze 4G versus the iPhone 4: Battle of the cameras

HTC has really stepped up its game in the past few months, delivering phones that take some pretty amazing shots. We knew that HTC was going to be focusing on cameras when they announced the HTC Sensation and the EVO 3D in the first half of the year, but things got even better with the introduction of the T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide with its 8 megapixel backlit imaging sensor and f2.2 lens.

Since then, HTC has rolled out the same camera tech on the HTC Amaze 4G and the HTC Rezound which are both rated as some of the best Android camera phones currently on the market. But how does HTC’s new camera technology compare to what Apple’s put together for the iPhone 4S? Many say that the two technologies are pretty similar, but T-Mobile thought it would be interesting to pit the two in a head to head battle to show which one has more features available for consumers.

HTC Amaze 4G on T-Mobile Updating to Enable WiFi Calling

A leak once suggested that the HTC Amaze 4G on T-Mobile would receive an update to enable placing calls over WiFi in mid-November. That didn't end up going down as expected, but an additional leak addressed the WiFi-calling update and suggested it would finally be out in the "near future". We suppose "one month" falls under that category, and T-Mobile has just released the details on the Amaze's latest update today.

System software version 1.43.531.3 includes a bunch of bugfixes. The clock widget will now change time zones correctly, Bluetooth and WiFi connection in general should be more stable, and the phone's Twitter and Peep functionality has been tweaked.
